Commerce for 11 & 12th standard in Quizzinar format, for revision of Tamilnadu school syllabus on Law and Company Secretary course

Tamilnadu State Board (samacheer kalvi) Syllabus on Commerce for 11th standard and 12th standard School Students, been happy to know that it covers so many laws and content as per the Company Secretary (CS) course of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), which is under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).

This exercise is done at Sivakasi Jaycees & Lions School, which is deeply into e-learning and has very good computer lab facility with all systems in working condition along with internet connection. This made learning fun for the students. Thanks to the Principal, Management, Staff and Students for their co-operation.

Here is an 1hour-online quiz conducted for them to give them conceptual clarity on the chapters covered, which can be accessed here, this will be a revision for upcoming Board exams.

The chapters covered under 11th standard are as under (9 out of 33 chapters):

1. UNIT II - Chapters 4,5,6 on Sole Proprietorship, HUF, Partnership and Joint Stock Company
2. UNIT V - Chapters 17,18 on Social Responsibility of Business (CSR), Business Ethics and Corporate Governance
3. Unit VI: Chapter 20 on International Finance (FDI, FII/FPI, ADR/GDR, FCCB)
4. Unit IX: Chapter 29,30,31 on Elements of Contract, Performance of Contract, Discharge & Breach of a Contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872

The chapters covered 12th standard are as under (13 out of 28 chapters): 

1. Unit II - Chapters 4,5,6 on Financial Market, Capital Market and Money Market
2. Unit III - Chapters 7,8: Primary, Secondary market & Stock Exchange and SEBI
3. Unit VI - Chapters 16,17,18: Consumer Protection Law and Grievance Redressal Mechanism
4. Unit VIII - Chapters 21, 22: The Sale of Goods Act, 1930 and  the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
5. Unit X - Chapters 26,27,28: Companies Act, 2013, IPO, Board meetings & Directors, General meetings & Shareholders, Company Management, types of resolutions and Company Secretary

CS Awareness Program conducted at colleges like VVV College, VHSN College, Ayyanadar Janakiammal College, Kaliswari College, Krishnasamy College,  etc...but for the very first time, it is conducted in the following schools:

1) Hayagrivas CBSE School, Sivakasi on December 5

2) PS Chidambara Nadar CBSE School, Virudhunagar  on December 6

3) VVV College, Virudhunagar on December 6

4)  Sivakasi Jaycees School on December 9

5) Sivakasi Lions School on December 24
